The Iowa Federation of Labor (IFL), begun in 1892, was formed to act as a unified voice for labor concerns and organizations in Iowa. Chartered by the American Federation of Labor (AFL) in 1894, the organization underwent organizational changes which paralleled the AFL's split into 2 groups (the AFL and the CIO) and its eventual reunification as the AFL-CIO.
